Tradesman at booth!

The lost past of trades!!!!

I have worked hard over the past two years, meeting folks from all over central Texas, finding the best people, craftsmen, and family businesses to not only promote and partner with.

But to also bring you dear, dear Sunny Hill member one of the best family friendly agriculture events around.....

And to be sure there are many educational events around....BUT NOT LIKE THIS!!!!

Meet the trademan, and the creators at the Market at the Farm.

A family man who every year would go to a camp with his son, spending quality time with him being outdoors. On these annual trips, he made a valuable connection with an old gentleman known for his whittling skills.....Jerry would come away with so much inspiration from this that lit a fire he would never put out.....he spent hours after hours understanding the skill of wittling, understanding this craft from every angle, not just with wood but art, and every aspect there could be gleaned!!!!

He now travels all over the U.S. teaching and educating all kinds of people from young to old how to utilize the knife against wood to create some of the most stunning hand-crafted art you will see. He has won multiple Championships and continues to master the art of whittling.

Creator and ceramicist who has honed her incredible craft by taking clay, her hands, and her creativity in every piece of art she creates.....for her it is not just something she picked up on the weekend but something she was born with, both her parents are creatives, from sewing, woodworking, you name it they have done it! Her skill is not just when everything is made just right, but with art comes flaw, like a bird landing on a clay pot, to her it becomes an opportunity to make the piece more interesting and unique.

Come see her live pottery display, ask questions, and see her amazing pottery line!

Leather craftsman, from hand stitching, hole punching, and leather cutting, each piece is made with intention, purpose, and beauty as he utilizes the natural leather to create everyday objects. The craft of leatherworking may have been because of his younger days, as his mother dabbled in the trade, but today Hunter has made it his passion to bring you the best leather products, making costume orders for all of central Texas. His knowledge of the trade is expansive.....the history of leatherworking is vast and important, in Texas' founding as it was settled using trades just like leatherworking.
